Eye Creme de la Creme

Yes, I did the inevitable, I went out and purchased myself eye wrinkle creme. I knew exactly what I wanted. I was looking for the "deep set eye wrinkle repair" by Loreal. I had seen the commercial and I was hooked! Typical consumer!I only found out after that it is the first eye creme with 24 hour treatment which just sealed the deal for me. And as I walked down the skin care aisle and made my way to the register, a montage of my youth played through with "These are the days," playing in the background. At that moment that I pulled out my wallet and paid for that wrinkle creme I went from being a young woman to woman. I finally had to let go of my youthful denial and come to terms that repair on these crows feet needed to start sooner than later. After all if 30 is the new 20, I need to at least try to fit in to all the 20 year old's I'm supposedly going to be mingling with in my thirties! Let me tell you ladies, I've been using the creme all week and it hasn't been a bad experience at all. I've actually embraced it and now I actually am feeling more youthful because of it. And as cliche as it sounds, age is just a number, you are as old as you think you are. So keep active, eat right and my most important advice to you, MOISTURIZE and you'll be fine. As for me, I'll definitely give you the scoop on any improvements. Enjoy living with you, and being in your own skin, it's the only shell we were given to go through this life so take care of it. And catch up with me ten years from now, who knows, by then 40 might be the new 10 or something!

The OC Housewives spotted in South Florida!!

VA VA VOOM this just in! The Real Housewives of Orange County were spotted recently in Fort Lauderdale having dinner in the hot new luxury eatery Steak 954 in the newly opened W Hotel. It seems the ladies are in town filming a segment for next season and doing it up in style! Next season is sure to be as explosive as the others with Botox injections, mansions, cars and jewelry to spare. The ladies will continue leading their charmed but not-so-perfect lives, having to juggle family, careers and friendships with their kids and husbands caught up in the middle of the drama. We have yet to see what’s in store for the girls this time around but we can’t wait to see Kimberly, Jeana, Vicki, Tamra and hopefully even Gretchen! We’re sure it’ll be juicy as ever!

On another note, former Housewife Laura Warring seems to be dealing with some drama of her own. TMZ reported her son Josh was arrested last Thursday when deputies did a routine visit at his Orange County home. Turns out they found some equipment in his house which violated his probation and he was taken in for possession of drug paraphernalia. Josh who has had several bump-ins’ with the law is sure to keep this mother of three in the center of controversy for quite some time. Hang in there Lauri!

And for all you fans out there who are just dying to get some more OC Housewives action, two segments will be airing on Bravo TV titled “The Lost Footage,” tomorrow July 23 and next week July 28th so make sure to set your TiVo!

It's not a recession, it's Recess!!

I've decided this recession business is way too depressing. Besides what is it if not a mandatory "staycation?" So I've decided never to utter the R word again.
Since this whole "R" thing started happening I've noticed people taking a more Laissez-faire approach to business and to life. Things have definitely slowed down and everyone seems to not care as much anymore and during the week a beach that was once a virtually abandoned is now packed. Actually most of us have been laid off so people are just finding fun things to do with they're free time. And I love how they call it "Laid"-off, as if they do it in such a way that is so graceful and thoughtful. Bull crap! It's more like "fire" you and they always do it at the most terrible time too. Right before the holidays or around your birthday. So I think it's time for some Recess!!! Instead of hating life, let's start loving it! When you're on your death bed you don't want anyone saying "Oh poor guy, he was always so stressed out about life." You want people to say "He really grabbed life by the you know what!" And why not, you deserve to be happy! Just think, if you're collecting unemployment, you're getting paid to have fun so who's really having the last laugh!
It's good to be successful and accomplish things but at the same time you need to keep reminding yourself that life comes first. Nurture your relationships, try to see the world, take yourself out of your comfort zone, help others and start a new hobby! The possibilities are endless!
And trust me you'll feel a lot better about you and the world when you stop giving this "R" thing so much importance and just start living your life. Tell me about your journey's and what you're doing with your free time, I'd love to know!
RINNNNNG!!!! Time for recess!!!

Friend or Foe

We grow up, make friends, go to high school, leave town, come back and those friends are still there. But we end up taking some things for granted. We think those people will be the same exact person they were 10 or 15 years ago when you were young and most of the time they're not. How many high school friends can you say you've remained really tight with after college and into adulthood? Not many, you know why? Because the inevitable happens, people change. It's all relative. People's experiences are different, especially as we start growing up. It's a shame too because people you thought you knew really well turn out to be completely the opposite. But don't loose faith, its all good. You still have those tried and true friends who have stuck by you through thick and thin and who you'd do anything for as well. So cultivate those relationships cause life goes on, just look at it as a casualty of war. People change, it happens. It really isn't personal. So sleep good at night, this too shall pass and everything will end up working itself out. Life has a funny way of doing that..

The Dolphins get a dash of Spanish flavor!

It’s a win/win! The beloved Estefan’s just made a deal to become minority owners of the Miami Dolphins!

The Estefan’s joining the franchise may not seem like a big deal to some but to Miamian's it’s a dream come true. They are well-respected in the community and fans know only good could come from it. This makes the Estefan’s the first Cuban Americans’ in history to hold any ownership stake in an NFL team, a milestone for the Cuban-American community in South Florida. Another Miami native Jimmy Buffett also holds stake in the team. We’re sure this will mean more creative and musical variety during the games. Maybe this will entice new fans and fair-weather fans to go out to the games more. And stay tuned during Hispanic Heritage month in October as Gloria plans to participate in Monday Night Football. Let’s see what she has in store. Go Dolphins!

Another day in the life..

Well, well what a day. This summer heat is stifling! I'm preparing to go work at our oh so favorite Design District Gallery Walk. Where once a month the gallery's open their doors to the general public and offer spirits and food as you walk from place to place sampling food, looking at beautiful art and sipping some wine. And the best part about it is it's free! I'm all about free lately. If it's free it's for me! I'm over going to all these over priced events. And to be honest lately, service at restaurants has really been "sucking" so I've opted to watch the food network more and cook at home more often. Hey it works, you figure a bottle of wine, an entree and dessert and you still can manage to stay under $30 bucks. Although I must admit, one of my absolute favorite things is to go eat at restaurants. It's almost like an event for me. From choosing the new eatery, to choosing what to wear and who to go with. And then there's the excitement of arriving to your reserved table, sitting down and ordering vodka martini extra dirty with olives. Mmmm, you just know it's going to be a good night at that point. Anyway, back to what I was saying about where I'll be tonight. So, I'll be promoting this new show going on right now called Fuerza Bruta which I haven't been to yet but I heard its amazing. So I'll be at the Art and Design Lounge today for a while handing out promo items and talking with the people's which I absolutely love to do. And I hope to see you there. Get there early to avoid parking delays and to enjoy the hors d' oeurves before everyone gets all their fingers all over em! toodles!

Interesting

I don't think I have ever put pen to paper ad lib style like I am now. I have always put thought into what I was going to write. Always ...
